From 11–13 March 2026, the city of Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina, hosted a high-level international dental training course titled “Soft Tissue Management Around Implants”, led by the renowned implantologist Dr. Ricardo Kern. The three-day educational event brought together dental professionals from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, and Germany, creating an inspiring environment for advanced learning and professional collaboration.
The course offered an intensive program combining theoretical lectures and hands-on training, focusing on modern surgical and biological approaches to managing peri-implant soft tissues. Participants explored key concepts such as the biological principles of tissue stability, aesthetic planning around implants, and advanced grafting and flap techniques used to achieve predictable functional and aesthetic outcomes.
During the practical sessions, clinicians had the opportunity to develop their surgical skills through hands-on exercises involving mucogingival graft harvesting, connective tissue graft techniques, vertical tissue augmentation, and advanced flap designs. These sessions allowed participants to translate theoretical knowledge into clinical practice under the guidance of Dr. Kern.
Beyond the educational component, the course also fostered international networking and collaboration, bringing together dentists and oral surgeons from different countries who share a passion for advancing implant dentistry and improving patient outcomes.
The event marked the first time Dr. Ricardo Kern conducted this course in Mostar, representing an important milestone in bringing world-class dental education to the region and further strengthening professional cooperation within the European dental community.
The three days in Mostar highlighted the growing importance of advanced soft tissue management in modern implantology and reinforced the value of international educational platforms for dental professionals seeking clinical excellence.
