About the Course

FMR & TMD – Beyond the Teeth is an intensive three-day educational experience with Dr. Łukasz Lassmann, designed for clinicians who want to approach full mouth reconstruction with a deeper understanding of occlusion, temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, and predictable clinical decision-making. Rather than focusing solely on restoring teeth, the course explores the relationship between the TMJ, muscles, occlusion, vertical dimension, restorative space, and the biomechanics of the entire masticatory system.

The program begins with the fundamentals of orofacial pain and TMJ diagnosis, including differential diagnosis of disc pathology, muscular versus articular problems, radiological findings, centric relation, and the SDS concept. Participants will learn how these principles influence treatment planning in complex restorative cases, particularly patients presenting with severe tooth wear.

From there, the course moves into practical treatment planning and bite registration. Dr. Lassmann will address occlusal vertical dimension, smile design, multidisciplinary treatment, leaf gauge techniques, deprogrammers, the Lucia jig, Dawson manipulation, and methods for verifying bite-registration accuracy. The program combines scientific concepts with demonstrations and practical workshops so that participants can translate the principles directly into everyday clinical practice.

The final day brings these concepts together through occlusal equilibration, digital occlusal analysis, splints, implant occlusion, and complete full mouth reconstruction workflows. Participants will follow a structured clinical algorithm—from the first patient visit and diagnostic decision-making through bite management and ultimately cementation.

This is more than a course about restoring teeth. It is about understanding the system behind them — and learning how to make complex full mouth reconstruction more logical, predictable, and clinically manageable.
