On June 20–21, 2025, Delta Dent Academy in Tirana, Albania, proudly hosted a groundbreaking two-day course on Biomechanics in Dentistry and Atypical Swallowing, led by the esteemed Italian clinician and educator Dr. Mauro Libertucci. This innovative training brought together dentists, orthodontists, and dental professionals eager to deepen their understanding of the critical connections between orofacial functions, biomechanics, and dental stability.
Dr. Libertucci, widely recognized for his interdisciplinary approach, delivered a comprehensive program that explored the underlying forces that influence dental alignment, occlusion, posture, and function — with a special focus on the diagnosis and management of atypical swallowing and its impact on long-term treatment outcomes.
In addition to theoretical insights, the course featured interactive demonstrations and video analysis, allowing participants to observe real patient behaviors and learn protocols for clinical assessment and intervention. Dr. Libertucci’s expertise bridged the gap between biomechanics and function, highlighting the importance of treating the cause rather than just the symptoms in modern dentistry.
The event not only equipped clinicians with practical tools for more predictable and holistic treatments but also sparked important dialogue about the future of dentistry as an interdisciplinary, patient-centered field.
Held in the heart of Tirana at the renowned Delta Dent Academy, the course contributed to raising awareness on the importance of functional diagnosis and re-education in both pediatric and adult patients. For all attendees, it marked an eye-opening step toward more stable, balanced, and long-lasting dental treatments.
