From March 10 to 14, 2025, the city of Curitiba, Brazil, hosted an intensive five-day course on Gingival Aesthetics, led by the world-renowned periodontist and soft tissue expert Dr. Ricardo Kern. This immersive educational experience attracted highly motivated dentists from Bosnia & Herzegovina, the United States, and the United Kingdom, all eager to master the art and science of soft tissue aesthetics in modern dentistry.

Throughout the week, participants delved into advanced clinical strategies for achieving optimal pink aesthetics around both natural teeth and implants. The program covered essential topics including periodontal biotype management, soft tissue grafting, papilla reconstruction, and minimally invasive flap designs, all supported by current literature and clinical evidence.

With a strong emphasis on hands-on practice, participants worked directly on models and pig jaws, applying techniques such as connective tissue harvesting, tunneling, and microsurgical suturing under Dr. Kern’s meticulous supervision. Live surgeries further enriched the learning experience, offering real-time insight into technique execution and decision-making.

This five-day course not only enhanced the participants’ surgical precision and aesthetic outcomes but also fostered a unique cultural and professional exchange among clinicians from different continents. Dr. Kern’s guidance, combined with Curitiba’s welcoming atmosphere, made this event a landmark in advanced periodontal education.
